Oviedo High School junior Nicole Morgan has been learning and competing in a form of western riding called Reined Cow Horse. "This sport is like a western type of dressage, doing a formal pattern with speed circles, spins and sliding stops, but the fun part is when the cowboys open the gate and the cow comes out," Morgan said. Morgan is the southeast region's Youth Limited Champion, and has placed third and 10th nationally. Up next, she will be competing in the NRCHA World Competition in Texas, where she placed seventh last year.

The following women have been selected as duchesses in the 2010 Royal Court of Leaders for Oviedo's Regional Mardi Gras Festival: Kim Coburn, Megan Sladek, Maria Fair, Jean Bruckert, Mary Pando, Mary Blake and Krissy Todd. One of them will be named queen at the crowning ceremony on Friday, Feb. 19 at Oviedo Marketplace.

D& A will provide full-service janitorial and carpet cleaning services daily at the eight-story, 177,000-square-foot building. As a senior estimator, Elser will be responsible for budgeting and estimating commercial waterproofing projects.

Ellen M. Paul has filed paperwork with the Division of Elections to run for State House District 33. If Paul and potential candidate Franklin Perez qualify for the ballot, Florida could see its first Libertarian primary, which would happen along with the Republican and Democrat primaries on Tuesday, August 24. Libertarians believe that competition promotes efficiency in the marketplace and that principle should apply to political candidates, as well. Visit www.lpscfl.org for more information.
